Every version, and what it changed for you.
63 releases since 25 Jul 2026. Breaking changes say what to do about them, and a version that rebuilds your index says so at the top.
Archis updates itself: chi update checks what is published, verifies the release hash before writing anything, and puts the previous binary back if the new one does not start. chi update --check installs nothing.

Your agent can now trace who wrote any line of a federated repository and why, search a whole kernel-sized checkout, and publish a one-line change without resending the tree.
Before you upgrade — Update, then reopen your agent window so it starts the new version. Your existing indexes are kept; run
chi indexonce on a very large repository so its first search is instant.- NewNew agent tools for a federated workspace:
federation_historynames the commits, pull requests and tickets behind any lines of a member file,federation_readreturns a file’s lines from the server, andfederation_workspace,federation_diffandfederation_lineageshow each member’s branch and commit, what changed between two states and the work behind a commit — all without a checkout. - NewOne read policy for every agent tool: paths it must never serve and secret shapes it redacts, set by the workspace, the registry and a
.chipolicy.jsonin the repository, with SCIM groups from your identity provider. - New
chi pilot reportmeasures rework, reverts and review time of agent pull requests, with and without Archis, computed on your machine. - ImprovedThe first search after
chi indexon a repository the size of the Linux kernel takes under 3 seconds instead of a minute and a half, and federated search reads every file that can match in a large checkout instead of stopping at a budget. - Fixed
chi repo publishsends only what the server lacks: a one-line change in the kernel sends six objects instead of two thousand. A new branch’s first sync counts only what changed from its base, and publishing a shallow mirror no longer takes minutes. - FixedFederation fixes: a shallow clone is refused instead of getting a random identity,
chi repo attachregisters each repository’s real default branch, the CLI redacts credentials as the agent tools do, federation commands honour--json, andproject_overviewno longer runs out of memory on a kernel-sized index.
