§00Changelog

Every version, and what it changed for you.

63 releases since 25 Jul 2026. Breaking changes say what to do about them, and a version that rebuilds your index says so at the top.

Archis updates itself: chi update checks what is published, verifies the release hash before writing anything, and puts the previous binary back if the new one does not start. chi update --check installs nothing.

  1. 0.17.0

The outline is worth trusting, so the agent stops buying the file.

Before you upgrade — Your index rebuilds itself the first time you open it after upgrading. Nothing else is affected and it is automatic.

    • Newchi hook — attribution for the files your agent reads and writes with its own tools, so the dashboard can answer "who worked on this file" about the whole session rather than about the part that came through Archis. It never fails your agent's call and prints nothing.
    • New"Is Archis being used?" is now the first thing the dashboard answers, and a line in chi stats. A complete, fresh, never-consulted index looks excellent in every other figure on the page.
    • Newchi dashboard prune-projects forgets registry entries with nothing behind them, and temporary directories are no longer recorded at all. One machine had 392 entries, 259 of them pointing at databases that no longer existed; the real projects were on page nine.
    • FixedA file's imports are the file's imports. Some were being reported as declarations from inside the file rather than as the modules the file imports — nine of them across four of twelve files. Across 200 Go files, imports now agree exactly with the language's own parser: 1,877 imports, none invented, none missing.
    • FixedA declaration that names several things at once declares all of them. Only the first was kept, so a name a file used eight times could be missing from that file's outline entirely. Symbol recall over 200 Go files went from 0.61 to 0.82.
    • FixedStruct fields and enum members are reported instead of being filtered out silently. A file with 83 declarations reported 57 and said nothing about the other 26.
    • FixedA search result says why it matched. A symbol returned because it calls what you searched for is the useful answer, and with nothing saying so it looked like noise.

Archis Free is the whole local engine, with no card. Everything semantic runs on your machine — there is no endpoint that accepts source.
