§00Changelog

Every version, and what it changed for you.

63 releases since 25 Jul 2026. Breaking changes say what to do about them, and a version that rebuilds your index says so at the top.

Archis updates itself: chi update checks what is published, verifies the release hash before writing anything, and puts the previous binary back if the new one does not start. chi update --check installs nothing.

  1. 0.30.0

The dashboard tells you what Archis saved, not just what it served.

Before you upgrade — Nothing to change. The saving appears on its own as your agents work — sessions recorded before this release have no counterfactual to compare against, so Archis reconstructs what your current index can price and marks the rest as unmeasured rather than guessing.

    • NewArchis now records what every projection replaced. Alongside what a call cost you, the session store keeps what the same content would have cost read in full — measured at the moment it was served — so the panel can answer the question you actually open it to ask: did this cost me tokens, or save them? The figure is the strict one. A file Archis outlined and your agent then opened in full anyway saved nothing: you bought the source regardless, and the outline on top of it is a cost, so it is subtracted rather than counted. That is the difference between 641k and 23k on a real store, and the smaller number is the one that survives being checked. The ceiling — what the saving would have been if every outline had replaced a read — is shown beside it, labelled as a ceiling, and the line underneath names every reason the headline is not the bigger number: files read twice, rows priced from the current index instead of measured when served, and exposures with no counterfactual at all, which are excluded rather than assumed. A repository where Archis cost more than it saved is shown as costing more.
    • ImprovedThe trial and the Pro plan are gone, and the catalog is the three tiers the pricing page publishes: Free, Team, Enterprise. Nothing counts down any more — Archis Free gives you the local engine indefinitely, which is a better version of what fourteen days offered and needs no clock. Signing in turns on anonymous usage statistics and says so rather than asking, with chi telemetry preview to see the exact payload and chi telemetry off to stop it; an answer you already gave is never overturned, and an installation that has never signed in collects nothing.
    • FixedThe Model column stopped saying unknown on every row. No harness puts the model in the hook payload, so Archis wrote a placeholder — a column meant to tell you which model a session ran told you nothing about any of them. It now reads the model off the transcript, which names it on every assistant turn, so a session that switched models mid-way is recorded as the model it ended on.

Archis Free is the whole local engine, with no card. Everything semantic runs on your machine — there is no endpoint that accepts source.
