§00Changelog

Every version, and what it changed for you.

63 releases since 25 Jul 2026. Breaking changes say what to do about them, and a version that rebuilds your index says so at the top.

Archis updates itself: chi update checks what is published, verifies the release hash before writing anything, and puts the previous binary back if the new one does not start. chi update --check installs nothing.

  1. 0.14.2

An index that cannot be trusted now says so.

    • ImprovedThe reason an index could not be verified rides every answer it affects, rather than being something you had to know to ask about.
    • Improvedchi doctor checks the index itself. It used to report "nothing broken" on a workspace whose index was unusable.
    • FixedAn index whose recorded root had moved or vanished was frozen forever — it could never update again, and never said why.
    • FixedA copied .chi directory made Archis answer confidently about the wrong directory.
    • FixedA scan that failed reported the index as current. An unreadable tree or a locked file now reports itself instead of passing as "nothing to do".

Archis Free is the whole local engine, with no card. Everything semantic runs on your machine — there is no endpoint that accepts source.
