§00Changelog

Every version, and what it changed for you.

63 releases since 25 Jul 2026. Breaking changes say what to do about them, and a version that rebuilds your index says so at the top.

Archis updates itself: chi update checks what is published, verifies the release hash before writing anything, and puts the previous binary back if the new one does not start. chi update --check installs nothing.

  1. 0.36.0

AIR is now Archis, and the command is `chi`.

Before you upgrade — Reinstall with curl -fsSL https://archis.dev/install.sh | sh, then run chi init and chi index in each repository and re-point your agent with chi agents on <agent>.

    • BreakingThe product is Archis and the command is chi. Everywhere you typed air, type chi; the server your agent talks to is chi-mcp and registers itself as chi, every environment variable begins with CHI_ instead of AIR_, and the home is archis.dev. Nothing falls back to the old name, so a script, an alias or an agent configuration that still calls air stops working rather than quietly doing something else.
    • BreakingYour index and your session history are rebuilt rather than carried over. What the previous version wrote is not read by this one: chi doctor reports an uninitialised repository until chi init runs, the first index is built from scratch, and a stored passphrase is asked for once more. A repository set up before this release also keeps a block of stale instructions in its agent files that chi init does not recognise — remove that block by hand.
    • BreakingYou sign in one more time after upgrading. Access granted under the old name stops verifying, so the first command after the update asks for the login again.
