§00Changelog

Every version, and what it changed for you.

63 releases since 25 Jul 2026. Breaking changes say what to do about them, and a version that rebuilds your index says so at the top.

Archis updates itself: chi update checks what is published, verifies the release hash before writing anything, and puts the previous binary back if the new one does not start. chi update --check installs nothing.

  1. 0.11.0

Six indexing defects, found by measuring 23 real repositories.

    • NewAn Objective-C language pack, and extensions shared by several languages resolved by what is in the file.
    • NewA second opinion on symbol recall, measured against Universal Ctags across the corpus.
    • ImprovedWriting the graph costs 6× less. Persisting was between 50% and 78% of an index.
    • Improvedchi index indexes your project, not its dependencies — and what counts as a dependency is a decision you can see and change.
    • ImprovedA monorepo of repositories is one graph with per-repository attribution.
    • Improved.chiignore lives at the repository root beside .gitignore, and its rules now also govern incremental updates. Adding a rule used to leave everything already indexed exactly where it was.

Archis Free is the whole local engine, with no card. Everything semantic runs on your machine — there is no endpoint that accepts source.
