§00Changelog

Every version, and what it changed for you.

63 releases since 25 Jul 2026. Breaking changes say what to do about them, and a version that rebuilds your index says so at the top.

Archis updates itself: chi update checks what is published, verifies the release hash before writing anything, and puts the previous binary back if the new one does not start. chi update --check installs nothing.

  1. 0.42.1

Archis records what your agent reads again, and an edit no longer drops a relation a full re-index would keep.

Before you upgrade — Update. Each fix takes effect on your next command; if adoption has read zero since 0.42.0, this is why.

    • FixedArchis records what your agent reads again. Since 0.42.0 the hooks that keep your session on the record and attribute your agent's file reads refused to run in every indexed repository — silently, so nothing looked wrong except that adoption read zero and chi init --check reported a repository that had never been indexed.
    • FixedSaving a file leaves the graph a full re-index would leave. In Go, a type could lose its relation to an interface it satisfies when you saved the file declaring it; and a call in a file you did not touch kept its old answer, still claiming one target after you added a second function of that name.

Archis Free is the whole local engine, with no card. Everything semantic runs on your machine — there is no endpoint that accepts source.
